Position Summary, Job Requirements & Responsibilities What We're Looking For: Iridium is seeking a Government Programs Director who is ready to rise to the next level in their career. As a Government Programs Director, you will be in charge of new sales and business development in the Federal Government sector with an emphasis on U.S. AirForce and U.S. Space Force. In this role, you'll be responsible for providing unique proposal strategies and implementing strong contract negotiation skills in a complex sales environment. This position requires an active/current Top Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain a Top Secret Security Clearance (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active). What You'll Do: * Develop and execute Iridium's corporate strategy related to U.S. Space Force and their integration and adoption of commercial space * Engage across the DoD (Department of Defense), including the Combatant Commands to understand requirements and critical capability gaps * Represent Iridium while participating within the CSpOC (Combined Space Operations Center) Commercial Integration Cell * Be responsible for new sales and business development including account prospecting, qualification, and lead follow-up within assigned sales territory to achieve or exceed assigned sales quota/product mix objectives * Play a key role in contract negotiation, proposal development, technical support, customer service, installation and customer training activities * Craft account plans/proposal strategies and assume responsibility for the implementation of plans * Actively seek out and contact perspective customers to build relationships, advise of new products or offerings and resolve problems * Be accountable for an assigned territory to achieve sales objectives; develop plans to increase revenues and improve market position * Create and deliver technical/product presentations/demonstrations/trade shows * Prepare status reports on activities in the territory; recommend potential areas of business and new/enhanced products to management Experience & Education Requirements / EEO What You'll Need to Succeed: * Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Sales or related field * 15+ years of relevant experience in Federal government business opportunity assessment, preparation of customer proposals, negotiation of customer agreements and project implementation management is a plus * Military sales and business development experience coupled with significant military knowledge, particularly with US Armed Services * Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present information, drive discussion, and respond to difficult scenarios with limited preparation across all employee groups * The ability to build productive relationships with all levels of leadership to build consensus and drive results and champion collaboration across multiple departments * Be able to think on your feet to respond to difficult situations and resolve issues * Must possess good judgement and decisiveness * Actively looks for ways to enhance and improve current processes and procedures * Skilled at managing multiple priorities while ensuring that work is of high quality * Must be proactive in seeking out knowledge and sharing what you've learned with others Things That Would be Great if You Brought to the Table: * Active involvement in trade associations preferred We'll also need you to: * Be able to travel up to 25% * Be a US Citizen Work Environment: This position primarily works in the company office or in a home office. The position is largely sedentary with the majority of the position sitting in a chair and working with a computer. The role uses basic office equipment including a phone, video, computer, keyboard, mouse and printer.
