Examine financial condition and safety and soundness of complex financial institutions.  Review financial, operational, and lending areas of the institution to assess the financial position of our state-chartered depository institutions.  Perform the Examiner-in-Charge function on safety and soundness examinations of state chartered financial institutions to make an evaluation of the overall condition of each institution.  Conduct meetings with senior management at financial institutions to disclose findings and ratings, to discuss examination issues, and to obtain information related to specific areas of the examination.  Conduct meetings with Bank Board of Directors to present examination findings.  Scoping time for upcoming safety and soundness examination to be prepared for the on-site portion of the examination.  Make an official written assessment of the results of the examination.   Travel across the state of West Virginia to multiple examination locations to participate on examinations of our state chartered financial institutions.  Additional travel to in-person training to continue examiner education and training on specializations within the examination function.  Research regulations and keep up to date with new laws and regulatory changes and hot topics.   Perform off-site monitoring of our financial institutions as part of our Central Point of contact (CPC) program to assess our institutions in between full-scope examinations.  Provide training to other examiners.  Represent the Division of Financial Institutions at regulatory meetings and conferences. Special instructions:   This position requires a bachelor's degree and 6 hours of accounting. This position also requires four years of financial institution experience or preferably financial institutions examination experience.  Position will require extensive overnight travel. Training: Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in business administration, accounting, finance, or related fields that includes successful completion of six (6) semester hours in accounting OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in information systems, information security, or related fields that includes successful completion of six (6) semester hours in information systems. Substitution: Experience as a state or federal financial institution examiner, professional accountant, or information security officer and six (6) semester hours in accounting or six (6) semester hours in information systems from an accredited four-year college or university OR experience in a financial institution in a lending/loan review capacity, auditing or operations management capacity, and six (6) semester hours in accounting or six (6) semester hours in information systems from an accredited four-year college or university may substitute for the required training on a year-for-year basis.   Experience: Four years of experience examining financial institutions.   Special Requirements: (1) Must be bondable.
