Job Description The Project Specialist performs a full range of varied, multi-skilled secretarial, clerical, and administrative support that requires creativity, and independent, discretionary judgment. The Project Specialist will routinely work with large data sets and perform analyses that will drive business decisions. This Project Specialist works alongside and assists medical group, institute and revenue cycle leadership to perform project management duties that support the initiation, planning, execution and completion of revenue improvement projects. * Maintains a high-level understanding of the entire revenue cycle, including Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) * Identifies work processes that can be improved upon, eliminated, or handled through electronic processes; makes appropriate changes or recommendations to workflows * Partners with various stakeholders across the healthcare system to facilitate and ensure the success of revenue integrity initiatives * Perform other related duties as required Bachelor's degree in Health Care Management, Business Administration, or related field. Extensive experience may substitute for education. * Two (2) years' experience in hospital/professional billing revenue cycle * Strong Excel and/or database skills. * Project management experience * Previous experience with cardiology preferred.
