Job Description Level II Collin County is seeking candidates for the position of Legal Clerk II. This position provides administrative and clerical support by answering the phones, creating files, typing documents, notarizing documents, scheduling appointments and hearings, inputting case information into computer system, opening and distributing mail, preparing and running reports, and ordering office supplies. Handles legal articles and requests by issuing and processing tickets, subpoenas, warrants, notices, hot checks and various complaints, scheduling and processing dockets, appeals, court dates and bond reductions, and updating case information in the computer. Performs related duties by handling financial matters, translating information for clients, coordinating courtroom duties, and supervising floor operations when required. Performs related duties as assigned. Candidates must have the knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, and office processes. One year of previous experience desired. Must have level of education equivalent to four years of high school or equivalency. Must possess sufficient skill to pass a typing test at the rate of 35 words per minute. Must possess and maintain a valid Texas Class C Driver's License with an acceptable driving record. Testing Requirements This position requires that you pass a typing test at the minimum rate specified above. * If you have taken a typing test with us within the last 6 months that meets or exceeds the requirements above, you do not need to take it again. * If you have never taken our typing test, have not met the requirements above, or it has been more than 6 months since your last test, you will need to take the test in order for your application to be complete. Typing tests are administered in the Human Resources Testing room from 8:30am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. You do not need an appointment to test, but you will need to bring a government issued photo ID.
