LabCorp is seeking a Medical Transcriptionist (Onsite) to join our team in Knoxville, Tennessee. This position is NOT a remote position. This role will include transcribing, coding, and delivering gross descriptions on surgical pathology cases comprised of moderately difficult medical terminology. The work schedule for this position is: Monday - Friday, 12:00 pm - 9:30 pm with rotating Saturdays, 8:00 am - 12:00 pm. Job Description: * Transcribing codes and delivering gross and microscopic descriptions on surgical pathology cases comprised of moderately difficult medical terminology. * Accurate and timely data entry of dictated and/or handwritten pathology cases into the laboratory information system * Identifying problems, determines and provides/implements appropriate corrective action/accurate solutions * Researching, troubleshooting and follow-up to ensure all inquiries/problems are resolved in a timely manner Job Requirements: * High school diploma/equivalent with transcription certificate OR 1-3 years experience in transcription/transcription-related experience * Past pathology experience is a definite plus, but not required * An associate's degree is preferred * Previous experience using foot pedal, audio software, and word processing software preferred * Knowledge of medical terms and medical language. * Knowledge of medical billing and codes. * Advanced spelling and grammar required.
