2000 16th St, Denver, Colorado, 80202-5117, United States of America POSITION DESCRIPTION We're looking for a dynamic self-starter with a knack for writing crisp copy and generating compelling stories. The successful candidate will be an agile team player who can work with efficiency, grace and discretion in a fast-paced environment. This position is an internship lasting six months with possibility to hire. The role focuses on external communication, with an emphasis on reputation management at the grassroots level. QUALIFICATIONS * Successful candidate has insatiable curiosity about the business of health care, the ever-changing dynamics of kidney care, and the teammates and patients at the center of our Village. * Some experience using traditional or emerging communications/public relations tactics is required. * Familiarity with communications strategy, content development and channel delivery, preferably including media relations. * Ability to think critically, solve problems creatively and balance competing priorities. * Proven project management ability and skillset. * Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner. * Excellent writing and communications skills is required. * Strong computer skills and proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook is required. * Previous internship or work experience is required. * Recent graduate with a degree in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations or related field is preferred. * Experience/familiarity with hospitals, health insurance, corporate affairs, human resources or risk management is preferred. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Strengthen Reputation through Grassroots Storytelling * Manage end-to-end storytelling opportunities from conception to cross-channel promotion. * Conduct media outreach to secure positive placements. * Identify and work with teammates to gather engaging story components like copy, images, and video. * Create, elevate, share, and amplify compelling content across internal and external channels to maximize reputational impact. * Ensure local storytelling supports enterprise priorities through messaging alignment (e.g. clinical quality, service excellence, health care access). Intervene to Mitigate Reputational Challenges * Collaborate with Risk Management and Legal teams to mitigate reputational issues as they arise. * Work with Emergency Management on natural disaster and business continuity communications. * Monitor traditional media, analyze PR outcomes and provide media intelligence to leaders with the help of software, tools and agency support. Discover Reputation Management Opportunities * Build strong relationships with operational leaders to understand reputational landscape in local communities. * Identify 'show-ready' spokespeople to deliver DaVita stories across channels in a compelling way. * Establish relationships with local media in advance of pitching and issues management efforts. * Anticipate issues, participate in tabletop exercises and simulations, and draft materials based on scenarios. * Support Village Communications Council as needed. Other Duties * Coordinate with cross-functional teams to implement communications strategies. * Conduct time-sensitive research on emerging priorities, topics and story opportunities. * Manage comprehensive records and repository of materials. * Track and report metrics for various communications activities. Salary/ Wage Range $18.50 - $27.00 / hour Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
