Educational Partnerships, Business Development Specialist American Public Education Institute APEI is seeking a competitive Business Development Specialist to support and promote American Public University System's (APUS) nursing programs to prospective organizations and current partners of Hondros College of Nursing (Hondros) to develop new business opportunities. As companies under the American Public Education, Inc (APEI) umbrella, APUS and Hondros work in tandem to maximize educational outreach. This role will establish and nurture relationships and opportunities with organizations primarily focused within the healthcare vertical, engaging key influencers such as executives, senior corporate leaders, mid-level managers and business development partners. The incumbent will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to create, launch, and implement programs, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to grow access and interest in APUS nursing academic programs, particularly with Hondros RN students and alumni. Responsibilities: New Business Development: * Locate and propose potential new business by contacting existing Hondros partners, discovering, and exploring opportunities. * Engage with healthcare organizations to sign agreements that benefit APUS and Hondros, leveraging the partnership to expand our reach within the healthcare system. * Maintain strategic partnership target list for assigned sector, adding new targets upon target conversion. * Work closely with the B2B manager at Hondros and APUS leadership to ensure clear targets and effective execution of responsibilities. * Routinely plans and implements business development events to identify, target and close opportunities to grow new business development opportunities. Account Development and Management: * Develop and implement strategies to market APUS nursing programs to Hondros students, alumni, and their network, aligning with the continuation of academic programs within APUS. * Participate in field sales activities with the Hondros team, including attending graduation events, job fairs, and traveling with field teams to promote APUS programs. * Successfully develop and manage a territory of hospitals to increase brand awareness and student activation. * Conduct routine business reviews with current key partner contacts. * Host and attend student and alumni routine virtual and in person events to increase conversions of Hondros graduate to APUS students. * Achieve monthly lead, application, and enrollment goals by organizing and facilitating recruiting events (information sessions) each month. * Successfully develop and manage a territory of hospitals to increase brand awareness and student activation. * Conduct routine business reviews with current key partner contacts. General: * Create marketing collateral for pitch purposes to attract and educate prospective students. * Establish quarterly goals and tactics to achieve those goals for target and current accounts. * Consistently introduce and leverage the roll-out of marketing campaigns and promotions to hospitals to establish new partnerships and advance existing agreements. * Document all activities by using customer relationship management (CRM) tool. * Maintain confidentiality and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. * Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining professional networks; participating in professional organizations. * Utilize social media tools to expand recruiting and promoting efforts. * Expand knowledge of regional and national nursing/healthcare trends and effectively communicate to internal and external stakeholders on a regular basis. * Prepare briefings and present information to internal and external stakeholders regarding trends, issues, and opportunities. Reporting Relationships: The Educational Partnerships, Business Development Specialist will report to APEI's Chief Marketing Officer. This position will not have direct reports. Requirements: * A Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred). * 2 years of consultative sales experience required. * Preferred 5 years of hospital/healthcare sales or a combination of healthcare experience. * Higher Education experience is preferred. * CRM system knowledge. * Strong listening skills and presentation skills. * Excellent verbal, written, communication and interpersonal skills with a strong customer focus. * This is a fully remote but requires up to 75% mid-west regional base travel. While this is a sales role, the compensation package is traditional and as a result, there is no bonus incentive or additive.
