Drake's Department of Public Safety is the main provider of emergency services and is committed to maintaining a safe campus environment for campus. With Public Safety staff available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, our Department is committed to being active role-models for both students and employees and developing positive community relations with Des Moines Police Department, the Drake neighborhood, and other organizations. Job Summary: Drake University Public Safety is currently seeking new public safety officers to join our great team. Presently, we are seeking to fill a Public Safety Officer position to work the hours of 11:30 pm - 7:30 am. In this role, you will contribute to the safety of the university by patrolling the campus, providing assistance in conflict resolution and assisting in safety prevention efforts. The position will require the candidate to work weekends and holidays. Our Public Safety Officers serve an important role in the safety of people, the security of property, creating a welcoming culture, and also assuring compliance with policies and applicable laws. Public Safety Officers serve as a responsible employee/Campus Security Authority under the Jeanne Clery Act.
