This position reports to Division/Function HR Manager Your role and responsibilities On May 8th, 2024, Electrification and automation leader ABB and Niedax Group, a leading global supplier of cable management systems, have entered into an agreement to form a new 50/50 joint venture. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions. Expected to close and commence operations in Q4 2024, the collaboration will integrate the North American cable tray businesses of ABB's Installation Products Division and Niedax Group into a new joint venture operating across North America with approximately 200 employees. Most of the workforce is based in the USA and Canada, with a small team in Mexico. The plan is to deliver advanced solutions and services to electrical contractors, distributors and systems integrators across the United States, Canada and Mexico. As the VP of HR for this Joint Venture, you will play a crucial role in shaping the joint venture company culture and ensuring alignment with strategic objectives. This role holds the opportunity to develop and implement people strategy through the execution of HR processes. Each day, you will provide HR support for a defined team or location, by partnering with respective managers. You will also showcase your expertise by representing HR in the business and establishing strong relationships with all business leaders and employees. The work model for the role is intended to be based in Buffalo, NY with regular travel (30-35%) to help establish the business around largely Canada and the US. You will be mainly accountable for: - Strategy and additionally the hands-on elements of the position, requiring a sense of urgency, accuracy and attention to detail. A "can-do" attitude is a must to be successful in this role. - Provide strategic HR guidance and support to the Joint Venture CEO, leadership team and employees. - Facilitate the development and sharing of the organization's vision, mobilizing, and influencing the values conveyed by leaders to ensure a culture of performance and recognition. - Be a leader who can easily multi-task and carry out large scale, complex projects both independently and collaboratively. This role needs a fast learner with a tireless passion to solve, to fix, to execute and deliver results of the highest caliber. - Lead the integration of HR functions and systems across Canada, the USA, and Mexico. Ensure seamless HR operations during integration and beyond. - Oversee the transition of employees and HR functions as part of the JV formation. Qualifications for the role * Bachelor's degree and at least 10+ years of progressive human resources experience, with at least 5 years in a senior management or leadership role * Experience leading all aspects of the talent life cycle and demonstrated success in developing and implementing HR strategies in a start-up and multicultural environment. * Experience in a multi-country HR environment, particularly in North America (Canada, USA, Mexico). * Proven experience in leading HR integration and change management initiatives. Experience in a Joint Venture or M&A environment. * Deep understanding of US employment laws, compliance requirements, and best practices in change management, organization design, compensation, and benefits; Experience working with unions is beneficial but not mandatory. * Proficiency in HRIS and HR analytics tools. Experience managing and executing multiple projects in a high-growth organization. * Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong interpersonal relationships at all levels of the organization with proven ability to balance business partnership with employee advocacy * Bilingual in English and French is a preferred skill but not mandatory. * Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
