The Work Management System (WMS) Team has reestablished the WMS Training Team as part of our continued focus on customer service to support the ever-changing business needs within Electric Operations. We seek a highly skilled and dedicated individual who will be responsible for instructing business users to effectively use a specialized suite of software applications. This role entails developing and editing course materials using a variety of tools in various settings and media, as well as delivering both onsite ad-hoc training and formalized classroom training at the company's learning center.The Project Specialist also coordinates and schedules upcoming training sessions, communicates with internal and external customers to determine program opportunities, and leads functional testing of the Work Management System applications in the training environment throughout each application's lifecycle.Required Education/Experience * High School Diploma/GED and 7 years of relevant work experience or * Associate's Degree and 5 years of relevant work experience or * Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of work experience Preferred Education/Experience * Master's Degree 2 years of work experience Relevant Work Experience * 3-5 years Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment Required * 3-5 years Strong presentation and professional demeanor, along with exhibited confidence dealing with all levels of management and union personnel as well as outside vendors and contractors Required * Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Required * Ability to perform supervisory functions in support of or in the absence of the Team Leader Required * 3-5 years Exceptional written, oral, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts in a clear and understandable manner Required * Adaptability and flexibility to deliver on-site and formal training sessions as required Required * Ability to train and transfer knowledge to peers and subordinates Required * Experience with building and posting training in various settings and media Required * Strong knowledge and expertise in the use of various software applications, including Microsoft Office products Required * In-depth knowledge of instructional design principles, adult learning theories, and curriculum development methodologies Preferred * Experience in curriculum development, instructional design, or a related role Preferred * Experience working in support of software applications for business organizations Preferred * Familiarity with learning technologies, multimedia development tools, and learning management systems (LMS) Preferred * Experience in training and educating users on software applications, preferably in a formalized setting Preferred Skills And Abilities * Strong written and verbal communication skills * Ability to simultaneously handle multiple priorities * Ability to work within tight timeframes and meet strict deadlines * Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, etc. * Well organized, detail oriented and flexible to handle multiple assignments Licenses And Certfications * Driver's License Required Additional Physical Demands * Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers. * Must sit or stand to use a keyboard, mouse, and computer for the entire shift * Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory as needed * Must be able and willing to work overtime if needed Core Responsibilities * Conduct training sessions to educate business users on the use of the WMS suite of software applications * Develop and edit comprehensive course materials, including but not limited to learning objectives, course outlines, training manuals, presentations, exercise packets, job aids, and online resources * Adapt training materials to meet the specific needs of different business teams and user skillsets * Collaborate with WMS Governance subject matter experts and software developers to ensure training materials are updated and aligned with software updates * Deliver onsite ad-hoc training sessions to address immediate user needs and concerns * Conduct formalized classroom training at the companys learning center, providing in-depth instruction on software functionalities and offering best practice tips * Implement effective evaluation methods to assess both training effectiveness and user satisfaction * Maintain accurate records of conducted training sessions, attendance, and user feedback * Evaluate user feedback and determine how and/or if it could be applied to current and future training * Establish and maintain contacts in the utility and other industries to enhance the knowledge, developing trends, and best training practices being applied toward adult learners * Participate in self-development activities and benchmarking with other corporations, vendors, and utilities to stay abreast of emerging technologies and new educational techniques to enhance training opportunities for the Work Management System applications * Adapt to changing training demands * Support the company in emergency and contingency situations * Mentor new instructors and assist in their development process * Assist with coordinating and scheduling training activities/classes * Oversee and manage key training development milestones for various software applications * Develop new training programs or opportunities within the WMS applications to meet the needs of Electric Operations * Stay informed of operating incidents, issues, procedures, and lessons learned to determine if/how they may be incorporated into training * Function in a leadership capacity in the absence of the Team Lead * Provide oversight of contractors and other support staff performing development and enhancement work on
