Job Description: Department: Student Involvement & Leadership Development Job Title: Summer Orientation Leader Number of Vacancies: 22 SSTA Approver: Christine Pulsifer Supervisor : Kristie McNamara Position Type: Non-Supervisory Schedule: June 3rd - 14th 8am-4pm, June 17th-28th 8am-11pm General Statement of Duties: Assist the Office of Student Involvement with various tasks related to the Orientation program including training, tasks, and working with new students and parents. Responsibilities: Serve as a role model for new students by displaying the responsibility and maturity of a continuing student. Actively participate in all required events, including meetings, training, and move-in day. Create an inclusive and welcoming community for all new students. Facilitate activities and discussions within small groups. Guide students to various locations and program points throughout orientation. Answer fundamental questions about WSU. Be prompt, prepared, and positive. Promote full participation for students at WSU. Assisting in the preparation of Orientation activities and materials. Be an effective and clear communicator with peers, new students, parents, faculty, and staff. Requirements: Must be enrolled as a full time student. Must have been a full time student for at least 1 semester. Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.3 or higher Must be free of any current/pending judicial action by the university Must be willing to live on campus for the month of June and participate in training, Orientation Program, move in day, and evaluation meeting.
