Success in the role will involve meeting expectations around safety, customer service levels, regulatory compliance, and other key performance indicators. This role will need to balance the needs of the local production asset and the supply chain network to ensure that we are being efficient with resources and keeping our customers satisfied Position will be based out of the Bayport, TX Evonik site. Address: 12000 Bay Area Blvd Pasadena, TX 77507 RESPONSIBILITIES Safety and Compliance: * Maintain safe operations, prevent accidents, and ensure regulatory compliance. * Conduct safety training meetings and update emergency plans. Operational Management: * Oversee day-to-day distribution operations cost-effectively within budget. * Manage and develop direct reports, ensuring effective training and motivation. * Ensure equipment maintenance, regulatory compliance, and optimal condition. Collaboration and Improvement: * Maintain relationships with Supply Chain and other teams to achieve goals. * Implement and support company initiatives for performance, quality, and safety metrics. * Proactively improve processes for enhanced efficiency and on-time deliveries. Logistics and Inventory: * Plan and forecast volume with Supply Chain. * Handle logistics issues and conduct root cause investigations. * Optimize finished goods inventory and ensure optimal customer experience. Project Leadership: * Lead special projects to improve operations. * Support management of third-party carriers, equipment, and maintenance vendors. REQUIREMENTS * Undergraduate degree in Supply Chain Management / business / engineering or related field or 10+ years of equivalent experience in manufacturing distribution of finished goods * Minimum of 5 years of experience in chemical or similar manufacturing industry * Understanding of applicable regulatory requirements associated with shipping hazardous chemicals by various modes, rail, truck, air * High level computer skills including Excel, SAP / ERP Systems, and PowerPoint required. * Personal initiative and the ability to work without supervision is essential. * Ability to effectively collaborate with individuals at all levels in the organization, both locally and abroad. * Willing to challenge existing business processes and effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, about processes and changes to processes in the finished goods supply chain. * Able to juggle multiple priorities operationally while looking long-term for planning purposes. * Must be able to anticipate issues and trouble shoot solutions to (ideally eliminate) reduce customer delivery impacts. * Prior supervisory experience in a manufacturing or warehousing environment Your Application To ensure that your application is proceeded as quickly as possible and to protect the environment, please apply online via our careers portal.
