Benefits: * Medical, dental and vision insurance * Retirement * Life Insurance * Long Term Disability * Flexible hours * Full time and part time * Paid training * Paid time off * Opportunities to grow with us * Standard business hours Monday-Friday Job Summary: The Accounting/Billing Manager will prepare financial reports to track the organizations assets, liabilities, profit and loss, and other related financial activities, as well as ensure accurate monthly billing. Supervisory Responsibilities: * None Job Duties/Responsibilities: * Performs general accounting and other related duties in the accounting department. * Prepares periodic (monthly) balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements. * Maintains the general ledger conceptually and in the software program. * Ensures monthly billing is submitted timely and accurately. * Post payments to correct G/L account. * Prepares standard monthly journal entries and adjusting entries. * Reconciles the agency general bank account monthly, verifies and makes deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks. * Records cash, check, and ACH deposits into file and imports monthly into software. * Reconciles customer accounts in software and manages accounts receivable collections. * Assists auditors; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual independent audit. * Coordinates with workers comp auditor annually. * Files or coordinates the filing of certain required tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies. * As appropriate, coordinates with software vendors to maintain accounting software system; recommends and performs updates to enhance the accounting software. * Structures files for import from payroll and billing systems into accounting software utilizing definition files and SQL query tools. * Structures allocation of property/vehicle/liability insurance costs across cost centers and fiscal year. * Maintains records of depreciable assets. * Maintains AP vendor list. * Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements Required Skills/Abilities: * Understanding of and ability to adhere to GAAP. * Highly proficient with accounting software. * Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software. Education and Experience: * Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline. * Education can be substituted with five or more years of experience. * Three to five years of relevant experience required.
