Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in the construction/contractor industry, located in Long Beach, California. This role involves various accounting and financial responsibilities in a hybrid workplace setting.

Responsibilities:

- Analyze financial data to identify trends and variances

- Conduct in-depth analysis of project revenues, costs, budgets, and variances

- Lead monthly financial reviews with management teams

- Oversee the month-end financial close process

- Reconcile General Ledger (GL) accounts and process various journal entries

- Compile consolidated financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, equity statements, and cash flow statements

- Assist in conducting various audits including financial, overhead, and project audits

- Prepare and deliver financial reports as needed

- Enhance and improve internal control processes

- Verify and match invoices with applicable purchase orders (PO's) and ensure proper authorization

- Enter vouchers into the system and reconcile accounts payable transactions

- Prepare checks, process ACH transactions and web payments, and maintain backup documentation

- Review and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the accounts payable process. Requirements - Minimum of 5 years experience in a Senior Accountant role, preferably within the Construction/Contractor industry.

- Demonstrated proficiency in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations.

- Extensive experience with general ledger management and journal entries.

- Proficient use of Microsoft Excel for financial tasks and reporting.

- Previous experience with month end close procedures.

- Familiarity with NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP accounting software.

- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field.

- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation is a plus.

- Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

- Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.

- Experience in budget preparation and financial forecasting.
