Seeking an experienced leader to oversee a Workday configuration team, specializing in payroll, compensation, benefits, absence management, time tracking, audits, legal requests, and complex problem-solving. This role is critical to maintaining operational excellence and ensuring the effective integration of technology across all HR processes. Critical Success Factors * Extensive experience in operations and/or technology with deep expertise in Workday configuration and HR business processes across multiple functions such as payroll, compensation, and benefits. * Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to connect dots quickly and manage ambiguity. * Proven leadership in managing and developing high-performing teams, particularly in a fast-paced environment. * Ability to drive and maintain high-quality outcomes while managing multiple priorities and deadlines. * Strategic mindset with the ability to see the big picture and translate complexity into actionable results. * Quick learner with a keen ability to adapt to new challenges and technologies. * Ability to quickly build and maintain strong relationships with key business partners from across the organization (HR, Legal, Technology, Finance) * Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to communicate and drive change with all levels of the organization (Executives, peers, technical SMEs) * Curious and continuously explores innovative ways to leverage technology for HR processes and ability to upskill HR professionals on approaches, tools and expertise * Workday-external candidates are required to have Workday experience. As the Director, Human Resources (HR) Technology Consulting, you'll lead a team that provides services specializing in functional team consultation and ongoing design, deployment, and maintenance of the human resources information system. Job Description Key Responsibilities: * Leads team that delivers configuration, testing, validation services and maintenance for Workday, our Human Resources Information System including, but not limited to, payroll, benefits, absence, compensation, talent acquisition, security, self-service, mobile, and integrations. * Drives issue resolution, enhancement solutions and prioritization in partnership with senior leaders, business and technology partners. Works closely with Workday vendor to handle day-to-day operations. * Partners and strategizes with leaders and internal customers to determine data and information needs, and the use of information to aid in making business decisions. Plans and supports current and new technology implementations. * Serves as Workday expert to provide customer support, analyze and resolve issues and errors, review reports, assess issue impacts and provide essential reporting for highly complex and confidential needs. * Partners with leaders and users to continuously improve service delivery. Responds to complex customer inquiries and supports the Associate Solutions Center for calls related to the system and certain processes. * Supports the deployment of feature releases and system maintenance, ensuring client requirements are met. Evaluates feasibility of system modifications and enhancements and consults with business partners for prioritization and implementation. * Develops and maintains training materials and job aids, in addition to leading training efforts in partnership with organizational change team. Ensures up-to-date documentation of system functions, processes and capabilities. Participates in scheduled and ad hoc training to improve policy and process acuity. * Leads associate management including performance, salary planning and administration, training and development, workflow and organization planning, day-to-day management, hiring and placement and disciplinary actions for direct and possibly indirect reports. May perform other responsibilities and projects as assigned. Reporting Relationships: Reports to the Associate Vice President, Human Resources Technology and Data Governance. Manages a team of HR technology professionals. Typical Skills and Experiences: Education: Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in multiple subject areas such as insurance, technology, human resources or financial business processes. Experience: Ten or more years of related experience in business, technology, insurance, operations, mathematics, human resources or related field, or similar business related position that involves analysis, problem solving, planning, coordinating and organizing. Three to five years of experience or training in HRIS, preferably Workday, and partnering with senior leaders preferred. Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Demonstrated skills in leadership, influencing, educating, negotiating, decision making and strategy planning and development. Knowledge of human resources systems and other digital technology capabilities. Ability to do system configuration, testing, integrations and report management. Knowledge of business process and associate data management. Business consulting and relationship management skills. Proven data and analytics and problem resolution skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Skilled at vendor management, project/process management and business assessments. Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
