EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree, education related field preferred A valid and current Substitute Credential with CTC, highly preferred Substitute credentials must be pursued in the 1st year of employment CBEST must be completed to be eligible to apply to CTC CPR & First Aid Certification, training provided Ability to lead, direct, and instruct students of all ages Strong English verbal and written communication skills Flexibility and critical-thinking skills Bilingual in Spanish is desired but not required ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, as well as other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned. Supervising students in all indoor/outdoor activities and ensuring a safe environment Supervising students during arrival and dismissal while ensuring a safe environment Stepping in as a substitute teacher when needed Attend Professional Development trainings, as directed by manager and/or administrator Supporting students during instruction on non-subbing days as needed, especially but not limited to students with special needs, English language learners, and other students with greater need. Tutor individuals and small groups of students in various subject areas Assists teacher in establishing and maintaining a clean, safe and pleasant classroom and learning environment Operates equipment such as copy machines, computers and audiovisual equipment Guide students' behaviors in a positive way that teaches self-respect along with respect for others and the community around them Encourage children to interact positively with other children and people around them When needed, provide a wide variety of age appropriate activities that offers physical and emotional growth Maintain open lines of communication with the teacher and classroom team to ensure the individual needs of all children are met Performs related duties as assigned Comments and Other Information Salary: starts at $22.00 per hour Status: Full-time Benefits: For full time employees - Health, dental, vision, STRS retirement matching, life insurance, short-term disability, optional 403b plan, sick and vacation paid time off, and holidays.
