The Senior Health Coach Clinical Resource Consultant is assigned to one client and responsible for providing individualized attention to UMR membership and covered families and serves to assist with navigation of the health care system. The goal of this program is to provide an interface with membership promoting health and wellbeing of assigned population. The Senior Health Coach acts as a subject matter expert on Worksite Wellness and Wellness Initiatives. Position is responsible for establishing client wellness plan focusing on creating a culture of wellness and initiatives to live healthier lifestyles. If you reside within a commutable distance from the New Orleans, LA area, you will have the flexibility to work from home and the office in this hybrid role* as you take on some tough challenges. Primary Responsibilities: * Develops and implements employee wellbeing programs based on evidence- based strategies, best practice examples, sound literature, creative and innovative ideas, and internal research and experts * Implement annual strategic wellbeing program plan in alignment with Human Resources and Employee Health and Wellbeing goals and services * Present information and lead discussion on health-related topics in both group and one-on-one settings, including methods to assist employees with healthy lifestyles changes * Provide members with tools and educational support needed to navigate the health care system and manage their health concerns effectively * Direct employees to resources to care and get the most out of their benefits to experience Wellbeing at work and home * Maximize program engagement through active and ongoing communications including, newsletters, bulletins, booth events, website, social marketing and other marketing opportunities * Recruit and enroll members into the Real Appeal, EAP, Case management, Behavioral Health management, Spine and Joint program, Disease management and/or Maternity Management Programs, as eligible through UMR * Promote wellbeing and good health habits in the employee population * Manages end to end including planning, event scheduling, and appointment coordination of wellbeing events (i.e., flu shots, health fairs, etc.), monitoring effectiveness of programs as it relates to improving employee health and wellbeing * Works with Customer and Customer communications to develop annual calendar of Health and Wellbeing topics including heart health, nutrition, physical fitness, know your numbers, cancer prevention, tobacco awareness, benefits of immunization, etc., more or less following national health dates (National Smoke Out Day, Wear Red Day, American Hearth Month, Awareness Month, Skin Cancer Prevention Month, National Immunization Month, etc.) * Facilitate group activities and competitions between plants and teams (8 weeks to fitness, walking groups, weight loss support groups, etc.) * Performs other duties as required Competencies: * Actively learns about the client company/business to be able to perform more effectively * Comes up with new and unique ideas * Understands the cultures of the client company and applies that information to wellbeing program development * Develops health improvement goals on an individual basis in accordance with metrics provided by the customer (employer) * Engages others in the course of working on projects, programs, and communications * Understands others' stylistic preferences and adapts approaches accordingly * Overcomes roadblocks without being deterred by set-backs * Evidence of ability to work independently and to plan, organize, and accomplish assignments under the direction of the customer (employer) in a timely and credible manner * Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and influence others * Effectively communicate at all levels of the organizations * Solid customer service orientation * Support care coordination when needed * Hands on champion of wellbeing initiatives You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications: * Certification in a nationally recognized coaching program * 2+ years of work experience in related wellness and/or health promotion activities * Experience in planning and implementing wellness programs and events * Experience in health behavior change principles and practices with an understanding of disease processes and general chronic conditions weight management programs, general nutrition and exercise programs * Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint * Ability to travel 50% of the time to client site for meetings, programs, etc. Preferred Qualifications: * Certified Health Education Specialist At UnitedHealth Group, our mission is to help people live healthier lives and make the health system work better for everyone.
