The Doe Run Company is currently seeking a Metallurgical & Process Engineering Manager to lead, manage, guide, and coordinate metallurgical and process engineering data reporting and projects. This position is located at the Buick Resource Recycling Facility in Boss, MO. Based in St. Louis, Missouri, The Doe Run Company is a privately held natural resources company and one of the largest lead producers in the Western Hemisphere. Dedicated to environmentally responsible mineral and metal production, Doe Run has facilities in Missouri, Washington, and Arizona and operates one of the world's largest, single-site lead recycling facilities, located in Boss, MO.  Using innovative mining techniques, Doe Run skillfully taps one of the largest lead deposits in the world. Responsibilities: * Direct & supervise metallurgical and process engineering staff to ensure work quality. * Develop and coordinate initiatives for continuous improvement of plant metallurgical performance. * Regularly review metallurgical data to report on plant metallurgical performance. * Provide technical process and systems support to improve plant performance and standardize work to achieve desired results. * Manage engineering review, analysis, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of plant engineering standards and work process and recommend modification and/or new equipment as needed. * Foster a culture to maintain EHS (environmental, health, and safety) compliance by allocating resources, establishing expectations, and holding teams accountable for adherence to EHS policies, procedures, and best practices; reviewing reports and ensuring corrective action for unsafe acts or conditions, incidents, and deviations; and participating in the continuous improvement in EHS performance through management systems. * Other duties as assigned. Education & Experience: * Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Metallurgical, Chemical, or Process) and minimum 8 years of experience in manufacturing or industrial environment supervising engineers. * In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, will consider a two-year technical degree and a minimum 15 years of experience in manufacturing or industrial environment supervising engineers. * Pyro and Hydro metallurgical experience preferred. * Valid driver's license. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: * Proficient in using Microsoft Office (Project, Visio, Excel, Outlook, Word), budgeting (Adaptive), and Invoicing/Accounts Payable (Dataserv). Prefer experience with data historians (ex: PI) and modeling software (ex: Metsim, HSI). * Technical leadership experience. * Understanding of environmental and safety standards, regulations, and practices. * Proficient knowledge of complex mass and energy balance. * Experience providing technical support to operations (non-consulting). Work Environment & Physical Requirements: * Frequently required to use phones/ radios, computers, and tablets. * Frequently required to wear a respirator, sit, stand, talk, and hear. Occasionally works in extreme heat (non-weather) and rarely works near moving mechanical parts. * Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more, 20 inches or less; Three-dimensional vision ability to judge distance and space relationships.
