Responsibilities: * Assists the PIC in the safe consistent, legal and efficient operation of company aircraft in compliance with all applicable federal and international regulations as well as company policies, standards, and procedures; * Maintains a working knowledge of the duties and responsibilities of a Captain; * Assumes PIC duties, including control of the flight, in the event of PIC incapacitation; * Participates in the Safety Management System. Duties: * Flies the aircraft per the directions of the PIC in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures; * Performs takeoffs and landings under the authority of the PIC; * Be familiar with and follow procedures as set forth in the Federal Regulations and the Flight Operations Manual; * In the absence of a Flight Engineer, assumes the Flight Engineer's duties on the ground and whatever inflight duties that are consistent with safety; * Assists the PIC during times of high cockpit workload; * Maintains revisions of all assigned aeronautical publications or other administrative duties; * Studies and prepares for upgrading to Captain; and * Assumes any duties delegated by the Chief Pilot, Assistant Chief Pilot, and/or PIC.
