Job Description:
Working at least one morning per week.To be eligible to apply for this position, you must be a current student enrolled at McDaniel College. This position is available to work study and campus employment students.
Position: ODEI Event Assistant
Revision Date: 7/2024
Reports to: Director of Diversity and Inclusion
Department: ODEI
Salary Grade: Current Maryland minimum wage
FSLA Status: Non-exempt
Location of Position: Roj Student Center, McDaniel College, 2 College Hill, Westminster, MD 21157
Duration of Appointment: 8/7/2024-5/21/2025
Schedule: Schedule is at discretion of supervisor
Evalution Procedures: Student workers are evaluated on a continuing basis
Scope: The Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion seeks student event assistants who would work on various projects and administrative tasks assigned by office personnel, reporting to the Director.
Specific Responsibilities:
* Composing, drafting, proofing, and editing written materials
* Program and event attendee registration
* Gathering data for programs and events
* Preparing event materials including agendas, name badges, signage, etc.
* Setting up for events
* Monitoring catering and other vendors
* Monitoring event breakdown
* Organizing meetings
* Other duties as assigned
Schedule:
* 4-10 hours a week, Monday-Friday
* Working at least two events per month, held in the evenings and some weekends.
* Some evening and weekends are possible

* Current student at McDaniel College
* Able to work two events per month in the evenings or weekend
