Discover all the possibilities of a career at Northside today. The Anchor Nurse III coordinates daily activities and distribution of work in assigned nursery. This position serves as a resource to Family Center Care nurse regarding the care of the infant. * Provides primary care provider to border babies. * Responsible for observation of babies while in nursery. * Assists primary RN/Physicians in special procedures as needed (blood cultures, diagnostic workups, LP's, etc.). * Serves as resource to primary RN/Physicians. * Collaborates with Charge Nurse throughout each shift. * Collaborates with primary FCC Team regarding work assignments (normal routine care is responsibility of primary FCC Team). * Assists with admission and discharge process as needed. * Assures circumcision pre-op checklist is completed accurately. * Assists primary FCC Team with circumcisions. * Oversees circumcision babies immediately post-procedure. * Assures appropriate equipment and adequate supplies in nursery area. * Assures nursery area is compliant with Infection Control policies. * Verifies competency of unit staff - annually and ongoing. * Assists with orientation of new staff. * Participants in staff meetings and other hospital committees as needed. * Provides constructive feedback regarding competency of unit staff - annually and ongoing. * Demonstrates service excellence behaviors routinely in encounters with all customers, i.e., coworkers, patients, visitors, physicians, ancillary staff, etc. * Performs other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES, LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: * Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and licensed as a RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations. * Minimum of 2 years' full-time experience as a RN post-orientation or post-residency training in Level I, II or III nursery; newborn; NICU and/or Mother/Baby units. * Certified in Neonatal Resuscitation * Newborn admission assessment experience * Proof of annual continuing education credits and/or hours in newborn care; minimum of 16 hours/credits within the past 2 years. * Certified in American Heart Association's Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS). * Please refer to the specific clinical unit for additional education, competencies and/or certifications required as a condition of employment.
