Position Description Title: Data Analyst Intern Department: Business Transformation Immediate Supervisor: Corp. Sr. Engineering Project Manager Status: Hourly Position Purpose: Play a critical role in managing and optimizing spare parts inventory within our organization. Focus on ensuring accurate and efficient spare parts data, preventing duplication, and improving overall inventory control. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, and stakeholders to maintain a well-organized and effective spare parts database Principle Accountabilities * Data Scrubbing and Standardization: * Scrub and standardize existing spare parts data to ensure consistency and accuracy. * Collaborate with internal teams to create a comprehensive data dictionary for spare parts descriptions. * Identify direct matches, close associations, and exceptions within the spare parts database. Field Inspection and Verification: * Coordinate on-site inspections to verify and correct spare parts descriptions. * Address incomplete or ambiguous descriptions (e.g., "Item 2 from Drawing 234563-2") by providing clear and meaningful details. * Ensure that each spare part is correctly associated with equipment, function, and category. Duplicate Identification and Removal: * Collaborate with the sites to identify and eliminate duplicate spare parts entries. * Optimize inventory by consolidating redundant items. * Maintain accurate records of cleaned and deduplicated spare parts data. CMMS Integration: * Updated the scrubbed spare parts data back into the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). * Collaborate with the sites to ensure updated spare parts data is correct once completed. * Complete a comprehensive inventory analysis based on stocking levels and turnover rates for each part. Process Implementation and Auditing: * Develop and implement robust processes to prevent future data inconsistencies. * Train Maintenance Resource Coordinators responsible for creating short description texts. * Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to naming conventions and data quality. * Optimization and Reorder Strategies: * Collaborate with Maintenance Resource Coordinators to optimize spare parts storage across the corporation. * Make recommendations for optimal stocking quantities, reorder points, and safety stock levels. * Continuously monitor inventory turnover to ensure adherence to restocking parameters. Essential Skills and Experience * Bachelor's degree or working towards a degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field. * Experience in spare parts management, data analysis, or inventory control preferred. * Experience in CMMS software preferred (e.g., AMMS, Maximo, SAP, or similar). * Experience with Microsoft Excel functions and formulas is preferred. * Strong attention to detail and ability to work with complex data. * Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration. * Familiarity with spare parts terminology and equipment components
