Technology Scout Fellow Skysong Innovations is ASU's exclusive technology transfer and intellectual property management company responsible for the rapid and wide dissemination of ASU's discoveries and inventions into the marketplace for the public good. The Technology Scout Fellow will act as an ambassador of Skysong Innovations (SI) to achieve enhanced two-way visibility within the ASU research community. The Fellow will serve as a technology scout for SI within a designated area of the ASU research community, proactively learning about, and making SI aware of, research having the potential for real-world impact. The Fellow will work 5 hours per week, with the assignment being one year in length, with potential to extend. * Applicants must be an Arizona State University PhD student in a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) field, with advisor approval to be eligible for consideration* Learn more about our student employment program here. What you'll do: * Provides SI with potential IP leads on a determined minimum frequency * Becomes familiar with specific research activities and publications * Attends PhD dissertations monthly * Cultivates and maintains relationships with ASU faculty * Makes new connections between SI and ASU faculty and other ASU researchers * Remains highly responsive to communications from SI and ASU faculty and other ASU researchers regarding SI matters * Other duties as assigned What you'll need: * Strong and collegial interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively in person, in writing, and by phone * Ability to represent the institution well, including the ability and willingness to proactively initiate research-related discussions with ASU faculty and other ASU researchers as appropriate * Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and responsibility regarding information related to Enterprise Partners, its subsidiaries and University business and confidential prospect information * Collaborative style, combined with the ability and desire to work in a team-based environment * Possess a willingness to learn * Ability to manage several activities at the same time * Attention to detail and thoroughness in completing assigned duties * Excellent planning and organizational skills; ability to handle multiple projects * Ability to work both independently and as part of a team * Problem solver who can take initiative and set priorities while being flexible * An advocate's belief in the vision of ASU as the New American University * Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook) Relevant qualifications: * Arizona State University PhD students in a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) field, with advisor approval Benefits: * Hybrid work schedule.
