Georgia-Pacific (a Koch Industries company) is currently seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to support our Containerboard business. We are seeking candidates interested in starting on the business finance side of things, with the goal of progressing toward direct commercial account responsibilities. This is a true springboard role on the finance team on your path toward an external salesperson role. This position will require a highly motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and self-driven individual. In the SFA role supporting our GP Containerboard & Kraft business; responsibilities include active management of our sales customer profitability processes with direct support for the business' commercial, customer service, and supply chain teams. Keys to success on this dynamic and fast paced team include: excellent communication skills, the ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines, economic thinking and orientation toward problem solving, data management skills and business acumen. Team/Location: In this role you will report to the Senior Director of Finance. Our team is located at GP HQ in downtown Atlanta, GA. We have a schedule of 3 to 4 days in the office per week plus remote days. The Georgia-Pacific Containerboard business includes five world class facilities that make GP the largest supplier of containerboard to the independent box market. We offer a variety of grades of performance linerboard and corrugating medium, as well as white top linerboard products. Our containerboard is sustainably produced in the U.S. at one of our five strategically located mills. Our products are manufactured using recycled and virgin fiber, and our mills have chain of custody and fiber sourcing certifications from recognized third-party groups, including the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) and Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). What You will Do In Your Role * Work directly with sales team leaders in developing sales strategies, communicating priorities, reviewing point of view materials, reviewing target pipelines, participating in customer visits, and other activities centered on direct salesperson support. * Manage opportunity valuations and provide direct financial support for the external domestic and export commercial teams. Examples of work include modeling opportunity marginal analysis models, building bid strategy models, drafting language for venture summaries to support sales and supply/chain opportunities. * Lead enhancement and data maintenance efforts for sales reporting: customer rankings, internal transfer price benchmarking, price reports, mix analysis, and other profitability improvement initiatives. * Work with IT resources in advancing new reporting platforms, automating data collection, and enhancing current software applications. * Conduct software/process training for additional users and business groups * Participate on other strategic projects as necessary * Advance the Principled Based Management (PBM) culture by applying and reinforcing the company's Guiding Principles Who You Are (Basic Requirements): * Finance, accounting, or commercial sales analysis experience in a business-to-business environment * Contribution/Collaboration mindset: You are an analytical thinker, details matter, you seek to build working relationships and partner with others to bridge gaps and solve problems * Confident Communicator: You are able to coordinate information across multiple teams and you engage effectively with your stakeholders in multiple formats - you are comfortable being seen and heard * Systems and Tools savvy: You have experience with Microsoft Office Suite/Office 365; (Outlook, Teams, Word, SharePoint) and an intermediate level of proficiency with MS Excel * Career Development: You have an interest in progressing into a sales role What Will Put You Ahead * Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business * Analytical work experience within the Paper, Packaging or Consumer Products industry * Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel; (financial modeling, graphs, charts, pivots, and data cubes) At Koch companies, we are entrepreneurs.
