Description Addition - TGH Crystal River and the Citrus County School Board are seeking a dedicated and experienced Athletic Trainer to lead and develop our athletic training program with our local High Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and managing a comprehensive athletic training program, including injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of student-athletes. This is a unique opportunity to build a program from the ground up with significant potential for growth and impact. Full Time and Seasonal Opportunities Available In this role, the certified athletic trainer will provide athletic training services and coverage to student-athletes under the direction of the team physician and in accordance with the Florida Athletic Training practice act. The Athletic Trainer with provide Athletic Training Services for all home athletic contests and practices and shall attend other post-season and home-hosted contests as directed by the Athletic Director. The coverage of FHSAA Sanctioned events will take priority over all other home-hosted contests and practices. The Athletic Trainer will act as a liaison between family physicians, specialist, the school district, athletes and their parents. The Athletic Trainer will maintain accurate records of injuries, treatments and provide insurance information for sports injuries treated by the physician. Key Accountabilities * Demonstrate the ability to implement care and prevention of athletic injury. Assess and treat athletic injuries including administering CPR and First Aid. Conduct and carryout initial assessment of an athlete's injury or illness to determine if immediate emergency assistance is needed and provide continued care. Demonstrate the ability and willingness to research current trends and best practices in the field of care and prevention of athletic injury. To determine and recommend to parent(s)/legal guardian(s) if any further medical treatment or evaluation through a physician or other medical facilities might be needed. Care for athletic injuries using physical therapy equipment, techniques, and treatment. Evaluate each athletes' readiness to participate in sporting events and to provide clearance when necessary. Apply protective or injury preventive devices such as bandages, tape, braces (examples: ankles, fingers, and wrists). * Assess and report to athletic directors and coaches the progress of recovering athletes. Collaborate with physicians, as needed, to help develop and implement comprehensive rehabilitation program for injured athletes. Develop and implement individual plans for the prevention and/or rehabilitation of an athlete. Be a resource for student/athletes and their parents on athletic health related issue such as diet and conditioning. Assist coaches with the designing and implementing of conditioning programs that improve athletic performance with student-athlete safety at top of mind. * Travel with athletic teams to assist at sporting events and be present for offseason, summer, preseason conditioning, and in-season practices to the extent possible. Assist with transferring athletes of various heights and weights who may have sustained injuries. Be responsible for ensuring proper equipment is setup and ready for practice, sporting events, and conditioning. Implement and carry out EAP training and adherence when needed. Demonstrate the ability to properly document all injury evaluation assessments in accordance with the Citrus County School policies. Demonstrate the ability to properly document all rehabilitation programs performed by the student-athlete. Possess organizational skills to manage inventory and ordering of athletic training room supplies and equipment. Other duties as assigned Education: Bachelor's degree or entry-level Master's degree in Athletic Training, Certified by the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers, and Athletic Trainer licensure in the State of FL. Preferred Education Background: Master's Degree in a related field including but not limited to Health Science, Education, Exercise Science, and Public Health. Experience/Skills: 2-3 years working in a secondary or collegiate athletic training setting. Experience working on a team. Licenses/Certificates: License/Registration - Issued by Florida or Compact State Florida State Athletic Training License Required Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer (BOC) Required
