Power Solutions International (PSI) is a leading manufacturer of emissions-certified powertrains specializing in customized and fully integrated turnkey solutions for the leading global equipment manufacturers in the industrial, transportation, and energy markets manufacturers. Our facilities are housed in one million square feet of engineering, assembly, operations, and distribution space across seven facilities. Position Summary: Reporting to the VP of Service & Warranty, the Diesel Product Support Manager leads the Diesel Product Support team. The focus of the team is to provide comprehensive support for PSI's diesel product business. This includes managing in-factory support, technical support, field service support, publications, warranty, training, diagnostics, and special tools. Developing a capable and knowledgeable team to support products in the field and acting as a liaison between PSI and Weichai (engine manufacturer) are critical to the role's success. Essential Responsibilities: Manage Product Support: * Oversee all facets of product support for PSI's diesel product business, ensuring exceptional support across all areas including in-factory support, technical support, field service support, publications, warranty, training, diagnostics, and special tools. * Provide excellent service to our customers and proactively informing management of potential dissatisfaction. Team Development: * Hire, train, coach, and manage the Diesel Product Support team, establishing performance standards and evaluating individual and team performance. * Ensure the team is well-staffed and capable of supporting products in the field. Liaison with Weichai: * Act as the primary liaison between PSI and Weichai related to support functions, facilitating effective communication and collaboration. Support Engineering and Operations: * Provide support to engineering and operations teams related to diesel products, ensuring alignment and effective support. Support Parts Team: * Act in a supporting role to the parts team related to diesel products, ensuring seamless integration and support. * Manage and execute product recall or campaigns in the field or remotely. * Support PSI level 1 contact center as needed. * Identify and develop 3rd party service providers to help PSI expand its ability to service product in the field * Develop and facilitate product safety, operation, service and maintenance training for our OEM, Distribution and Fleet Customers. * Collaborate with Distribution, Sales, Product, Customer Care, and Parts teams within PSI to achieve customer satisfaction. * Facilitate product safety, operation, service and maintenance training for PSI Energy Field Service team, OEM, Distribution and Fleet customers. * Support root cause investigations to aid in a more reliable product and reduction in PSI warranty costs. * Facilitate product problem resolution within the PSI team and extended supply chain companies. * Work closely with sales, commercial, supply chain, engineering operational and service teams to ensure PSI product performance meets market and customer commitments. * Stay abreast and read relevant findings, research, changes related to PSI's products, suppliers, customers and the industries and applications our products serve. * Other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications Requirements: * Bachelor's degree Automotive Technology or Engineering preferred; may substitute for the degree direct applicable work experience on a year-for-year basis which built competencies and subject matter expertise. * Demonstrated proactive and creative troubleshooting and problem solving creating a customer experience that positively differentiates corporate brand from competitors in the customers. * Subject Matter Expertise in engines, the current & future state of Power Generation product performance, and the commercial, technical and financial risks in the Power Generation market. * Strong verbal and written communication skills focused on active listening and inquiry, detailed document and follow up, and analytical reporting. * Ability to travel up to 40%. * Strong Leadership and Program Management Skill. * Mechanically inclined with subject matter expertise in engines and fuel system repair, ideally paired with knowledge of power generation, energy, industrial, and on-highway applications. * Maintain a working knowledge of all pertinent industry and market segment related local, state and federal codes and regulations including fire safety, emissions, UL, building codes, etc. PSI is committed to providing a work environment where employees respect and value each other as individuals and is free of harassment and discrimination.
