Primary roles include Financial Reporting, Regulatory Reporting, accounting controls and operations. Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Specific activities may change from time to time. * Proactively partner with the LOB ('Line of Business') to ensure accuracy and integrity of processes impacting financial reporting. * Support new and existing products and business changes providing accounting guidance on business models and decisions and pull together the operational and technical accounting and reporting components to enable successful launches. * Key player supporting the monthly and quarterly accounting activities for the LOB, including approving journal entries and reconciliations, and preparing quarterly financials for regulatory reporting and statutory audits. * Support the Deputy Controller and Financial Reporting team on external financial and regulatory reporting matters including certain LOB specific regulatory reporting and internal management reporting. * Understand and review of financial results including the analysis of general ledger activity and results to ensure consistency with GAAP, financial policies, and controls to identify and mitigate areas representing material financial risk. * Account level variance analysis in support of the month-end close process. Includes identifying, analyzing, and interpreting variances and unusual trends in the LOB GL activity. * Design and maintain internal control environments and compliance programs to ensure accuracy of financials and prepare for and assist with internal and external audits. * Partner with Corporate Accounting Policy team as subject matter expert on LOB accounting issues, assisting in maintaining up to date policies. * Serve as liaison with Accounting Operations group as a subject matter expert for LOB accounting and data. * Collaborate with other finance teams, risk teams, internal and external audit. * Proactively identify and resolves technical, operational, risk management, business, and organizational challenges, and establishes long-term solutions for continuous improvement. * Leads highly complex and visible projects with notable risk and complexity. * Makes leadership decisions within established policies & procedures. Preferred Qualifications: * Supervisory experience of multiple teams * CPA * Financial services or specialized industry experience. * Master's degree. * Proficient in SAP, Hyperion, Workiva.
