Personnel Management Responsibilities * Supervises, monitors activities and provides direction to personnel in Driver Recruiting. * Provides ongoing feedback to direct reports regarding their personal performance, both positive and constructive. * Conducts second interviews with potential candidates and makes hiring decisions for Driver Recruiting positions. * Ensures ongoing development of staff to stay up-to-date in the business enabling them to elevate performance levels and grow the business. * Tracks and reports attendance information for direct reports ensuring accurate attendance related information is reported to Human Resources on a timely basis. * Ensures personnel conducts themselves appropriately to maintain a work environment that is free of unlawful harassment, including, but not limited to, sexual harassment. Takes action in accordance with company policy in all potentially harassing situations. * Integrates the company's noble purpose and core values into every aspect of the position and communicates with the team on a regular basis on the company's core values, mission, vision and noble purpose. * Reinforces the behaviors of employees demonstrating core values and gives recognition to employees who endorse the core values of the company. * Incorporates core values and noble purpose as part of performance management process and coaches and supports employees on how to demonstrate core values. * Attends required management training seminars or related courses that focus on enhancing personal leadership skills and improving team development. Manager Responsibilities * Trains new members of Driver Recruiting to perform their position and to follow standard operating procedures to effectively process and hire applicants in accordance with standard operating procedures. * Understands the business, various fleets and selling points of TransAm and effectively trains Driver Recruiting department to communicate with driver applicants in relation to each applicant's specific needs. * Assists personnel in the department in creating a method to effectively sell TransAm. * Provides continuous training on how to effectively promote TransAm and what TransAm has to offer to driver applicants. * Trains personnel to demonstrate persistence in overcoming obstacles throughout the applicant process. * Ensures that personnel in Driver Recruiting department are hiring drivers who meet TransAm's hiring criteria. * Updates Quick Reference Guide as necessary with new information or makes edits to existing information in the guide. * Communicates changes to Driver Recruitment Department. * Facilitates daily meetings with Driver Recruitment to discuss previous day's statistics and address issues that need discussed with team. * Monitors the phone system daily to ensure that phone calls are queuing up correctly for the department. * Takes appropriate action to escalate any technical issues that may be occurring. * Monitors the Driver Recruiting department to ensure team members are logged in to phone system and also monitors unavailable time and wrap-up time in between calls. Takes appropriate action to address any performance issues that may be occurring. * Resolves and answers problems or questions as presented by subordinates and coworkers. * Monitors Driver Recruiters to ensure applications are worked in a timely manner. * Confirms that Driver Recruiters are performing quality screening of applicants and asking all required questions and entering the information correctly into the system * Performs quality control on Driver Recruiting phone calls and uses content in phone conversations to work with personnel on improving their approach and communication with driver applicants. * Confirms that Driver Recruiters are performing quality screening of applicants and asking all required questions and entering the information correctly into the system Phone System Responsibilities * Monitors the phone system daily to ensure that phone calls are queuing up correctly for the department's daily workload. Takes appropriate action to escalate any technical issues that may be occurring. * Monitors the Driver Recruiting department to ensure team members are logged in to phone system and also monitors unavailable time and wrap-up time in between calls. Takes appropriate action to address any performance issues that may be occurring. * On a daily and weekly basis, reviews the number of calls handled by each team member and ensures the average talk time for each member is within the department standards. Takes appropriate action to address any performance issues.
