Job Description and Duties Are you interested in a meaningful and impactful career? The Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) could be the place for you! DPR has an opening for an administrative Attorney IV or III position in OLA focused on legal issues including labor, contracts, and grants. Under the direction of the Chief Counsel, the Attorney IV or III provides legal support to DPR executive management, the DPR Human Resources Branch, Equal Employment Office, and programs regarding: Compliance with complex and sensitive labor-related requirements. This includes, but is not limited to, issues regarding performance management and progressive discipline, labor issues, personnel transactions, retaliation, whistleblower protection, equal employment opportunity complaints and investigations, and departmental policies. -DPR contracts and the DPR research and alliance grants programs. -Various administrative and government law requirements including the Public Records Act, Bagley-Keene Open Meeting Act, and Political Reform Act. Acts as DPR contact for issues involving incompatible activities and conflicts of interests. -Diversity equity and inclusion matters and civil rights policy requirements You will find additional information about the job in the Duty Statement. Working Conditions * Administrative office building. * Ability to use a computer up to 8 hours a day. * Occasional statewide travel with occasional overnight stays. The DPR Office of Legal Affairs (OLA) is a full-service government law office that provides a broad range of legal support to DPR executive management and programs regarding DPR's legal authority and the effect of environmental and other laws, regulations, court decisions, and administrative proceedings. OLA works to ensure compliance with and brings actions to enforce violations of requirements governing the use and sale of pesticides.
