Overview We are currently seeking a Public Relations Specialist to support the Naval Medical Research Unit - Dayton (NAMRU-D), located at Wright-Patterson AFB, Dayton, Ohio. Responsibilities * Authors newsletter articles, weekly plans, press releases, and social media updates. * Maintains the NAMRU-D employee awards display board with official photographs. * Takes and maintains digital photographs of official command functions. * Manages the NAMRU- D publications program ensuring works are properly submitted for review and tracking publications through review process. * Assist the NAMRU-D Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) program by receiving written requests for information for review and compliance to appropriate NAMRU-D leadership, and tracks Congressional inquiries submitted to NAMRU-D. * Coordinates with Wright Patterson AFB Public Affairs office for support for media visits and plans, coordinates, sets up, and cleans up official ceremonies according to Navy protocol. Qualifications * High School diploma. * Proficient in Microsoft Office Software including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher. * Experience with event planning and coordinating meetings. * Experience with graphics/photography. * Must have excellent written and verbal skills to include writing/editing skills. * Familiarity with basic media relation functions.
