Plus, excellent fringe benefits. Summary of Function: Assists in overseeing game management (50%), Responsible for assisting with the intercollegiate softball program (50%). Typical Duties: * Serves students. Manage, schedule, organize and oversee volunteers. * Manage, schedule, organize and oversees all aspects of athletic game operations, set-up & breakdown of equipment, clock operation, scoreboard operations, admissions, concession stand, hospitality room, etc. * Assists the head coach in overall coaching and game implementation. Leads, monitors, and coordinates training, strength & conditioning, and practice sessions, ensuring that all appropriate safety guidelines and standards are maintained. * Assists the head coach in various administrative functions including game preparation and scheduling, record keeping, and travel planning. * Assist with social media, statistics, and marketing. * Provides guidance and assistance to student-athletes on a range of personal and academic issues, as required including monitoring student-athlete behavior, development of student-athlete individual educational plans, and monitoring student academic progress and support. * Assists in the identifying and recruitment of potential student-athletes for the softball program, in accordance with NJCAA rules, regulations, guidelines, and standards. * Support and participate in strategic planning initiatives and performs other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: * Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher learning and one year of successful coaching experience or two years of coaching experience Or Bachelor's degree from a recognized institution of higher learning and two years of coaching and/or playing softball or a related sport Or Bachelor's degree from a recognized institution of high learning and some coaching experience Additional Eligibility Requirements: * Valid Driver's License Classification: * Exempt Position Type & Work Schedule: * Full-time, 12-month position * 7:00am - 5:00pm, Monday-Thursday * Fridays, Saturdays, and evenings as needed Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Knowledge of and ability to follow college policies and procedures * Knowledge of or ability to maintain organizational structure, workflow and operating procedures * Skill in current technologies and word processing, database, presentation, and spreadsheet software, specifically Microsoft Office applications, Windows * Knowledge and professional experience with confidentiality and handling of sensitive information * Skill in managing one's own time * Ability to complete all departmental and/or institutional mandatory training or development * Ability to organize, work independently, prioritize, follow multiple projects and tasks through to completion, with close attention to detail while contributing to team environment * Ability to provide support and assistance for diverse populations in a professional and supportive manner * Ability to communicate effectively, verbally, in writing, and in a public setting, and to relate to others in a professional manner * Ability to work effectively in ambiguous situations * Ability to exercise effective customer service and relationship building skills * Ability to engage in and demonstrate flexibility and agility * Ability to work productively with students, faculty, and staff of diverse backgrounds * Ability to analyze problems, identify solutions, and take appropriate actions to resolve problems using independent judgment and decision-making processes * Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other department staff, faculty, students and the public Work Environment: * Indoor, office environment with normal noise and lighting levels * Outdoors for Athletic events, such as practice and games, subject to different weather conditions and possible high-level noise * Working environment may include various locations, indoor and/or outdoor, as needed to support athletics program, department and/or institutional needs Physical Demands: * Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer * Prolonged periods of standing or walking * May lift, carry, push, and/or pull, at times a minimum of 20 pounds to support the set-up of events and activities * Occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and/or twist * Must be able to navigate various departments of the organization's physical premises Travel: * Must travel with the team * Travel to off campus events Note: * Yuma Time is split 50/50 - Athletics Department / Softball Program * Benefits Eligible POSTING DATE: June 27, 2024 FIRST REVIEW OF APPLICATIONS: The first review of applications will begin on July 15, 2024.
