Job Title: Instructional Aid Associate Specialist Department: Arts and Sciences | Chemistry and Biochemistry Administration We are seeking two Instructional Aid Associate Specialists to join The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry within the College of Arts and Sciences at The Ohio State University. The Instructional Aid Associate Specialists will support the General Chemistry Prep Lab Manager in the preparation of reagents, equipment, instruments, and lab spaces for scheduled laboratory experiments. They will oversee the general chemistry lab support window operation to meet requests from Lab Supervisors, Teaching Assistants, and students. This position is responsible for training student assistants on how to work in the general chemistry lab support window distributing lab unknowns, chemical instrumentation, specialized equipment, and lab glassware. Ensure all instruments and equipment function properly through scheduled calibration and performance checks. Instructional Aid Associate Specialists will maintain an inventory of lab instruments and equipment in designated areas. Assisting the General Chemistry Prep Lab Manager in supervising student assistants. Performing chemical analysis and waste management as directed. Coordinating the maintenance and repair of instruments, equipment, and lab facilities with the General Chemistry Prep Lab Manager as needed. Other duties as assigned. Minimum required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in chemistry or biochemistry, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional Information: The pay range for this job profile is $20.02-$26.33. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications. Location: Celeste Laboratory of Chemistry (0371) Position Type: Regular Scheduled Hours: 40 Shift: First Shift Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check.
