The Ground Support Equipment Lead Inspector (GSELI) is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance activities, the diagnostic, repairs and inspection of military/civilian light, medium and heavy wheeled equipment power generation, and ground support equipment. Works along with team members and sets the pace. Responsibilities This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company. MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES: * GSE Lead Inspector will direct the work of other mechanics and provide support to maintenance team to ensure satisfactory levels of customer service are maintained for internal and external customers. * Inspects, tests, and operates wheeled equipment and ground support equipment (commercial and Military) to determine equipment serviceability and proper operation. * Uses automated Logistics Information System to maintain equipment records, and document maintenance actions, maintains wheeled, construction and grounding systems. * Removes, disassembles repairs, cleans, treats for corrosion, assembles, and reinstalls components and accessories. * Disposes of hazardous materials and waste in accordance with all state, local, and federal environmental standards and regulations. * Operates, cleans, inspects, and services wheeled equipment for maintenance purposes. * Practices good housekeeping, property accountability control, Foreign Object Damage prevention and safety at all times. * Additional responsibilities include working with a variety of repair and test equipment including Maintenance support Device MSD-V3/V4, pressure testers and electrical testers to name a few. * Performs other duties as assigned to meet organizational/operational objectives. * Job duties and responsibilities may change due to contractual requirements. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS: * High school diploma or equivalent. * Must have the ability to acquire and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC). * Successfully pass a NAC-I background check. * Must possess a valid State Driver's License. Commercial Driver's License preferred. * Must be able to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship, such as a birth certificate or a U.S. Passport. * Must maintain driving privileges aboard the Ft. Liberty installations. * Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check. Experience: * Must have at least three (3) to six (6) years of experience as an inspector of military vehicles. * 3. At least eight (3) years of maintenance team lead experience within medium-sized military support organizations or equivalent, plus a comprehensive knowledge of supply and services. Skills: * Must be proficient in servicing, troubleshooting and repairing military and civilian wheeled equipment and ground support equipment. * Must be familiar with the use of electronic technical manuals. * Working knowledge of GCSS-Army preferred.
