Job Overview The Human Resources Manager will have broad oversight of all essential HR-related tasks and responsibilities in North America and will work to ensure consistency across the region through development and enforcement of HR standards, policies and procedures. This role will plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the Human Resource department in North America, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organization's mission and talent strategy. The Human Resources Manager will be based at the Carlsbad, California office but will also directly support the Burlington, Canada office for all HR needs. Job Responsibilities: * Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization's human resource compliance and strategy needs. * Administers or oversees the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; payroll, and training and development. * Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organization's goals and strategy related to staffing, retention, and employee development. * Advise North America management for employee relations needs, including difficult employee situations, high-risk terminations, performance issues and workplace investigations * Oversees standardization of HR practices across the region * Supports senior leadership to identify key HR issues; develops and executes best practices for resolving issues in line with Anaergia's policies and local employment laws. * Monitors and ensures the organization's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and recommends best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance. * Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management. * Drives cultural objectives through development of strategic initiatives with NA HR team * Promotes the company's diversity, equity and inclusion goals and provides necessary feedback and action items to management * Facilitates professional development, training, and certification activities for HR staff. * Oversees immigration needs, including work visas and applications * Performs other duties as required. Supervisory Responsibilities: * Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department. * Oversees the daily workflow of the department. * Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations. * Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy. Education and Experience: * Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required * At least five years of human resource management experience
