Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs, including job site safety, fall protection, hazard communication, and more.
- Conduct thorough safety inspections of projects, identify risks, recommend corrective actions, and ensure follow-up.
- Lead and facilitate group safety training sessions to educate employees on safe work practices.
- Manage safety protocols across multiple locations, ensuring cohesive compliance and safety standards.
- Investigate safety incidents thoroughly, determine root causes, and oversee the implementation of corrective measures.
- Collaborate in creating Site Specific Safety Plans and Activity Hazard Analyses to support a safe work environment.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, federal, state, and local safety standards, as well as adherence to company policies and any owner-specific safety requirements.
- Assist in policy development and employee training initiatives to enhance safety practices.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Subcontractors, and Suppliers to maintain safety standards.
- Conduct new employee safety orientations and oversee the establishment of a local branch safety committee.
- Provide support and guidance during OSHA audits and demonstrate independent judgment in addressing hazardous situations.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Safety Management, or related field preferred. (5+ years of field experience may substitute for education)
Experience:
- At least 3 years in developing and managing safety programs with proven results.
- Demonstrated experience investigating safety incidents and implementing corrective actions.
- Experience overseeing safety at multiple sites simultaneously.
Skills:
- Strong expertise in Fall Protection and working at heights.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency is a plus.
- Familiarity with Procore is preferred.
Physical Requirements: Ability to climb ladders and lift up to 15 pounds.
Certifications:
- OSHA 30-hour in Construction (or willingness to obtain).
- OSHA 500, EM 385, and Fall Protection Trainer certification preferred.
- BCSP certification is advantageous.
