Staff and Administrative Job Summary Helping the Alterations Department Supervisor completing sewing orders and special projects for customers. Essential Functions: * Consult with customers to write tickets with all the correct information with the necessary instructions and measurements. * Perform all the alterations and sewing requested. * Help complete all projects during the year for the MTC and the Athletic Departments. * Keep firm perimeters on turnaround timelines and types of services we offer. * Work as a team member with other members of the laundry and tailoring area. * Help with the training of new employees. Qualifications: * Must show experience using straight stitch, serger and blind hem machines. * Must be able to work quickly and efficiently in a rather busy area. Must be task oriented. * Exhibit listening and communication skills when working with customers, to find out what their needs and timeline is to complete their orders. * Must be able to take recommendations and directions from supervisor. Decisions Made and Referred Made: * Choose best ways to complete customer requests. * Determine turnaround for each service/customer * Purchase supplies to complete projects Referred: * Hiring/Terminating employees Education/Experience Minimum education/experience Required: 5 years of proven alterations experience. Computer experience to be able to enter orders. Operate blind hemmer, serger machines and industrial straight stich machines. Preferred: 1 years of college or Trade School 10 years of experience Skills, abilities, knowledge, licenses, certifications: * Operate blind hemmer, serger machines and industrial straight stich machines.
