As a Transporter, you will escort patients and transport items between patient units and ancillary departments. Primary Duties: * Obtains supplies/equipment/medications, as needed, from appropriate departments and transports to nursing units. Obtains "STAT" medications from Pharmacy and delivers to nursing units. * Assists nursing staff getting patients into chairs/beds/stretchers, and escorts/transports patients to and from ancillary departments. Responds to all "Codes" as assigned, to transport and obtain requests for supplies, medications, etc. * Transport specimens to appropriate laboratory. Utilizes communication devices (bellboy, walkie-talkie) to respond to requests for service, and always maintains all devices in proper working condition. * Communicates appropriate information to patients, staff, and visitors. * Maintains a safe environment for patients during all phases of transportation. Exemplifies Guest and Staff Relations standards in all activities. Qualifications: * High School Diploma or GED. * Previous hospital or patient care experience preferred. This position has a hiring range of $18.19 - $18.19
