POSITION SUMMARY: Under the guidance of the Associate Branch Executive Director, the Adult & Youth Sports Director is responsible for the planning, organization, delivery, administration and quality of YMCA sports programs to the membership, program participants and community. Oversees the Miracle League program, the Adapted Committee and provides a year-round comprehensive youth and adult sports program for all ages. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Interprets, communicates and promotes The Family Y Mission, goals and objectives to employees, volunteers, members and the community at large. * Supervises full-time and part-time non-exempt employees and volunteers. * Recruits, trains, develops and recognizes program staff and volunteers. * Develops and monitors program budget to meet fiscal objectives. * Promotes and incorporates the YMCA four core values and character development into all program activities. * Maintains accurate records, statistics and reports for control and evaluation of all programs. * Coordinates and schedules use of branch facilities for program activities and events. * Purchases, maintains in good repair and inventories all program equipment and supplies. * Assists in marketing and distribution of program information. * Monitors and updates all required staff certifications. * Seeks out and develops alternative space to conduct the Youth and Adult Sports programs to expand our service and programming for the membership and the community. * Establishes and monitors risk management policies, procedures and best practices. * Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints on a timely basis. * Maintains a cooperative working relationship with all staff, volunteers and members. * Actively participates and supports the annual campaign. * Performs all other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor's degree in a related field or 2 years experience in Sports Management or related Youth Programs. * A minimum of three years experience in supervision * Must be certified in Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED within the first 30 days of hire. * Proficient problem solver * Proficient in budget development * Detail oriented * Excellent communication skills WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires a full range of motion, including strong back, legs and arms, manual and finger dexterity and eye/hand coordination. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Work requires being able to lift, bend, stand, and walk for extended periods of time as well as working irregular hours.
