Description LEGISLATIVE SERVICES OFFICE Revenue Analyst RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide professional, independent, non-partisan staff support to the Idaho Legislature. * Develop and maintain tax revenue and economic models, including model design, model testing, forecasting, statistical analysis, and acquisition and evaluation of data. * Provide tax policy analysis on a wide range of Idaho taxes. * Support the Economic Outlook and Revenue Assessment Committee. * Assess economic and revenue implications of proposed legislation. * Respond to information and analysis requests from legislators on tax policy and other revenue-related topics. * Conduct population and demographic analysis and forecasting. * Research statutes, examination of data, and gathering information from other states. * Conduct specific research projects on tax policy and other revenue-related topics. * Report results of tax policy and revenue analysis and research in both written and oral form. * Track new developments in public finance and taxation and revenue issues in Idaho and other states. * May require some travel to attend professional meetings and trainings. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: (1) A graduate degree from an accredited college or university in Economics, Business, Mathematics, or a closely related field, or relevant work experience in a similar position (2) Experience analyzing and utilizing large datasets (3) The ability to write clearly and express ideas through research, data visualization, and reporting applications, including information collection, evaluation and presentation of results. (4) Experience speaking before groups and delivering organized presentations. (5) Experience developing and maintaining dashboards. Highly Qualified Applicants: will demonstrate experience in economic research and analysis on public finance issues and a working knowledge of advanced statistics.
