The Systems Engineering Director will support our COCOMs and Navy\Marine Corps team, focusing on creating and aligning technical and business strategies to drive revenue and net contribution. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Leverage consultative skills to create new opportunities and gain new customers * Recruit, develop and retain top talent using WWT Core Values and the Federal Solutions Engineering mission and vison as our foundation to grow * Own technical strategy, goals and plans for team's success and contribute to the organization's overall strategy, plans and technical direction * Lead collaborate with Senior Engineering Managers, Computer System Architects and Consulting Systems Engineers to define strategic technical plans and align/partner with right key OEMs to solve customer problems * Identify trade-offs between short and long term gains by having a deep understanding of customer needs and technical choices * Assist team solve conflicting priorities and make timely, effective decisions * Demonstrate strong leadership skills and drive results within team * Oversee the presales process and help drive effective communication between sales and Professional Services * Provide technical direction, coaching and mentoring to employees and others to achieve successful short and long term outcomes * Develop strong relationships with strategic OEM partners * Lead, mentor and coach for Systems Engineering Manager(s), Consulting Solutions Architects (CSAs) and Consulting Systems Engineers (CSEs) * Business partner to Director of Sales, co-owner of Team Profit and Loss responsibility * Provide for technical and business acumen growth for assigned engineers and staff * Guide, participate, contribute to strategic account planning with Account Teams * Guide, participate and contribute to Team and Federal team resource planning and development QUALIFICATIONS: * 5-10 years of experience delivering large scale IT solutions: Collaboration / Storage / Server / Virtualization / Security strategies focused around our key OEMs: Cisco, Dell (EMC), NetApp, and VMware * Proven track record working with leadership and driving business strategies within Federal market sectors * Knowledge of COCOMs and Navy\Marine Corps team is required * Relationships with OEMs: Cisco, Dell (EMC), VMware, NetApp * Ability to travel up to 50% as needed * US Citizenship is required, and a security clearance is preferred * Excellent oral and written communication skills * Leadership, mentorship and the ability to translate complex IT architectures into easily understood and consumable solutions is required Want to learn more about our Public Sector Federal team?
