Department University Communications Responsibilities The Social Media Specialist will report to the Social Media Program Manager in the Office of University Communications and assist in creating social media content for Florida State University's main accounts (@FloridaState) across multiple platforms. * Assist in creating social media content for top-level FSU accounts, including Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter), YouTube and LinkedIn. Stay up to date with emerging trends in social media and collaborate with the Social Media Program Manager to plan, outline and draft ideas, write copy, produce photos, and video and edit digital content. Create and publish timely and appropriate content on all social media accounts, consistent with the university's messaging and branding strategy. * Assist the Social Media Program Manager in ensuring compliance with the university's social media policy and best practices for all registered FSU-affiliated accounts on campus. Coordinate with other team members in University Communications to create social media content, including news articles, videos, graphics, and other materials that support the university's strategic goals. * Collaborate with campus partners and assist the Social Media Program Manager in supporting the university's integrated marketing and communications strategy. Cultivate and enhance relationships with internal and external social media and communications partners across campus. * Assist in monitoring social media posts and engagement and report noteworthy or concerning posts or comments to the Social Media Program Manager and/or other appropriate administrators. Conduct regular assessments of the institutional level accounts' strength and effectiveness, measuring engagement, following, and the other key social media metrics. * Assist the Social Media Program Manager with the supervision of a social media team comprised of paid, part-time OPS, and student internship positions. Work closely with the Program Manager to guide the team in developing content, including photos, videos, and graphics for the main FSU social media accounts. Qualifications Bachelor's degree and two years of experience or a combination of post high school education or experience equal to six years.
