Position Summary: The Instrumentation Technician shall inspect, repair, calibrate, and perform preventive maintenance of industrial control systems and associated modules, input/output devices, peripheral equipment, and external instrumentation to insure correct and reliable operation of control systems. Responsible for assisting customers in the Oil & Natural Gas, Petrochemical, Chemical, Food and Beverage, Steel, Water/Wastewater, Power Generation, Marine, Dredging and/or Specialty industries. Duties will include maintaining customer relationships and expanding current relationships. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Keep records such as daily work reports, preventative maintenance records, equipment maintenance records and instrument calibration records. * Study reference manuals, process control diagrams, blueprints and schematics and consult with vendors and manufacturers' representatives to research maintenance problems and prepare requisitions for replacement parts. * Troubleshoot pneumatic controls and troubleshoot by using blueprints. * Recognize and define scope changes that should result into Change Orders * Support other technicians in the field with progress reports, meetings, and punch-lists. * Review vendor drawings for compliance with project specifications. * Interact and communicate effectively with customers, vendors, engineers, and management. * Interact with other engineering departments to develop and review drawings, specifications, and scope. * Familiarity to trouble shoot and work on control systems and instrumentation, not limited to, but including: Allen Bradley PLCs, various pressure / temperature transmitters, O2 analyzers conductivity analyzers (both HART and BRAIN smart instrumentation), Variable Frequency Drives, Control Valves (multiple OEMS), Pressure Switches and Flame Safety Equipment. Qualifications: * HVAC experience and knowledge desired * Experience trouble shooting control systems for various industries and facilities. * Capable of using portable stack combustion analyzers and certified calibration equipment. * Understands many other aspects of Industrial Automation, including roles of SIS, Instrumentation, Communication protocols, and Networking and Cybersecurity * Ability to lead in a team-oriented environment. * Excellent grammar, punctuation, and etiquette desired * Willingness to learn new platforms and new technologies. * Must be very organized, detail oriented, with the ability to identify outliers quickly. * Demonstrated field troubleshooting ability, both electrically (panel) and logically (PLC/DCS) * Ability to follow and perform work in accordance with company and customer HSE policy. * Ability to travel to customer sites as required, with travel expectations averaging around 40% Benefits: * Paid vacation of two weeks per year.
