The Position The Performing Arts Teaching Artist will work closely with the Arts Division staff to create and deliver meaningful and engaging curriculum (in relation to the applicant's expertise). Responsibilities of this position require an adjusted work schedule, including working weekend hours. This is a part-time, temporary, contract position. Examples of Important & Essential Duties (included but not limited to) * Create curriculum (class series, workshops, lesson plans, youth camps) for all ability levels in a variety of mediums within your expertise (i.e. drama, dance, music etc.). * Maintain clear and professionally written documentation: lesson plans, achieved class objectives and reviewing documents. * Provide creative arts instruction of created curriculum for all ages and abilities in a variety of mediums within your expertise (i.e. drama, dance, music etc.) * Contribute to planning meetings. * Review and document participants experiences in classes. * Ensure your classroom is safely set up with appropriate materials needed for instruction. * Effectively implement policies and strategies set in place by the city and the center. * Attend weekly staff meetings and other. * Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
