Description Chevo is looking to hire an experienced Federal Web Developer to join our expanding firm. This position provides the opportunity for significant client interaction by learning the client's business and becoming a trusted advisor. Ideal candidates will demonstrate versatility in understanding and performing work related to web development for Federal Government programs, preferably within the Homeland Security field. Duties and Responsibilities: * Conduct user research on the website audience to discover their needs, gather future requirements, and prioritize site changes and enhancements. * Conduct usability and functionality assessment of website(s) and systems to ensure that users can effectively find and share information. * Build feature prototypes including wireframes, mockups, and that can be tested with users and demonstrated to stakeholders. * Collaborate with the client to prioritize site enhancements and features identified by user research or requested by stakeholders and validated by user research. * Oversee, write, edit, seek federal review of, coordinate all new website content, and publish the content in a timely manner. Collaborate with the client to edit and generate original content. * Deploy website updates through a DevOps pipeline that includes automated testing, continuous integration, and continuous deployment best practices. * Deliver structural, content and/or design updates to the website via production deployments at the end of each sprint or as needed. * Track site trends and metrics to guide decisions on prioritizing upcoming work. * Ensure that the website remains mobile responsive and follows accessibility guidelines (508 Standards) * Maintain existing functionality and content on the website by conducting Quality Assurance Testing and fixing bugs as they are found. Required Qualifications: * A minimum of at least ten (10) years of website development experience or relevant/similar experience which includes experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities with all the following: * In-depth knowledge of the Drupal Content Management System and the DHS Web Content Management as a Service technical and development requirements. * A strong background in PHP, CSS, HTML, and JavaScript. * Experience federal accessibility guidelines (508 standards). * Experience with implementing an agile development process. Desired Qualifications: Experience implementing human-centered design best practices to identify, prioritize, and build site improvements in the federal environment.
