OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY Fox TV Stations FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network's national content. JOB DESCRIPTION Come join the Bay Area's top rated news station! Be part of a winning team with a diverse culture that believes in supporting, mentoring, and training our staff. We are searching for a Per Diem Newscast Writer. As a Newscast Writer, you will play a pivotal role in crafting compelling news stories. We value individuals with exceptional news judgment and experience in researching and writing news copy, and a solid grasp of the AP writing style. Additionally, candidates should possess experience in producing live broadcast newscasts on digital or linear platforms, along with a thorough understanding of TV newsroom workflows, deadlines, and production processes. Key Skills and Qualifications: * Exceptional writing proficiency in TV news broadcast style * Strong news judgment and critical thinking skills * Experience in reporting, researching, and verifying facts * Proficiency in AP writing style * Experience producing live broadcast newscasts on digital or linear platforms * Clear understanding of broadcast production needs Responsibilities: As a member of our team, your duties will include supporting multiple newscasts, collaborating with producers and the assignment desk, and working under tight deadlines. This position is ideal for someone seeking writing and producing experience in a top-rated newsroom. The selected candidate will be trained to produce newscasts and will have opportunities to fill in as needed. Please note that only candidates interested in producing will be considered. Other duties will be assigned as deemed appropriate and necessary. Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $31.35-31.35 per hour. We provide Freelancers medical/dental/vision insurance and 401k after they meet eligibility criteria and any State required time-off, in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
