Overview
HOURLY RATE (DEPENDING ON SKILLS/EXPERIENCE): $20.00
SCOPE: Process and maintain medical records and correspondence in a manner consistent with current federal and state guidelines as well as in accordance with our organizations established privacy policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Assist in organizing and directing medical records
* Scan documents/records in accordance with department guidelines
* Process release of information requests for medical records in a timely and efficient manner ensuring accuracy and providing quality customer service
* Ensures appropriate authorization is obtained for release of medical records
* Transcribe referrals in accordance with department guidelines
* Answers and documents information in the EMR to log completion of information requested
* Inform supervisor of any issues in retrieving medical records and/or release of information
* Perform other duties as needed
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* High school diploma/GED required.
* 1 Year of medical office experience required.
* 1 Year of experience with EMR required.

Work may require sitting for long periods of time, stooping and bending/stretching for files and supplies. Requires occasional lifting of files or paper weighing up to 30 pounds. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, calculator, telephone, copier and other office equipment. Vision must be correctable to 20/20 and hearing must be in the normal range for telephone contacts.
