Department Summary We are seeking a Project Coordinator to coordinate and implement multiple programs at UCLA Hub for Health Intervention, Policy and Practice (HHIPP). Under the supervision of HHIPP Director of Research Programs, Elizabeth Wu, and Professor Ian Holloway, the Project Coordinator will serve as a member of the HHIPP research team and is assigned responsibility for coordinating and implementing a variety of funded program projects. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating programmatic activities, which include coordinating logistics for outreach events, engaging with community-based organizations and local/state entities, promoting programs and events, developing outreach materials and identifying, developing and facilitating new project opportunities for the HHIPP research team. The Project Coordinator will support and manage multiple projects with various deadlines. Within the HHIPP research team, the Project Coordinator will focus on (1) LGBT health disparities; and (2) HIV at the intersection of mental health and substance use. The Project Coordinator will operate with a high degree of autonomy. They will independently determine how to carry out assignments, make independent judgments regarding whether topics require additional consultation, and with whom, and undertake appropriate action. The Project Coordinator will be proactive in identifying potential problems and opportunities and bring appropriate issues to the attention of Elizabeth Wu and Professor Holloway while providing creative recommendations or action. Salary & Compensation * UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Understanding of health and policy issues affecting people living with HIV (PLWH) and sexual and gender minorities (SGM). (Required) 2. Understanding of the unique challenges, health disparities, and other issues affecting SGM, people at risk for HIV/AIDS, people who use drugs, people who inject, young adults, people who experience homelessness, and people who are touched by the criminal justice system. (Required) 3. Ability to provide a key leadership role, and work closely with other members of the HHIPP team to achieve desired results. (Required) 4. Good literature review skills to support development of strategic planning reports, grants, and research manuscripts and technical reports. (Required) 5. Ability to manage multiple complex projects with competing priorities and deadlines including event planning, protocol development, study recruitment and management, and communications. (Required) 6. Excellent writing skills and attention to accuracy and detail to prepare communication materials ranging from technical research reports to marketing materials that are analytical and grammatically correct. (Required) 7. Excellent oral communication skills to work with external partners, communicate logistics, and build relationships across sectors. (Required) 8. Proven ability to work independently or as an active member of a team; ability to work under pressure at times while maintaining flexibility needed to execute prioritized tasks. (Required) 9. Strong organizational skills to manage various activities and programs with multiple deadlines. (Required) 10. Ability to train student workers, volunteers, and other staff on program activities. (Required) 11. Ability to delegate tasks and oversee student workers, volunteers, and other staff on their work. (Required) 12. Demonstrated ability to use PC desktop computer and software such as MS Word, Excel, electronic mail and the Internet. (Required) Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations Bachelor's Degree Public policy, public health, social work, or related field and / or equivalent experience / training (Required) Special Conditions for Employment Age Requirement: Candidate(s) must be 18 years or older to be eligible to be hired.
