Job Summary This position is responsible for managing front-of-house support for event production at Spivey Hall. The Lead House Manager directly supervises all Spivey Hall House Managers, including scheduling, duty assignments, and oversight of all facilities and equipment needed by the House Manager team. The Lead House Manager will assist with the production of all Spivey Hall events, including management of Spivey Hall ushers and audience hospitality services for Spivey Hall patrons. This position represents Clayton State, Spivey Hall, and the Spivey Hall Development Manager positively to a wide range of people and organizations. This position reports to the Development Manager. Responsibilities * 40% - Assist in managing the front-of-house production setup of Spivey Series and Spivey Hall Education, Clayton State University Music Division, other Clayton State University departments, and visiting PreK-12 events, including Young People's Concerts, Spivey Hall Honor Choir/Orchestra/Jazz Ensemble rehearsals and concerts, large-ensemble rehearsals and concerts, faculty and student rehearsals and recitals, award ceremonies, and lectures. * 20% - Volunteer recruitment, hour log, front of house volunteer and staff scheduling. * 15% - Serve as event House Manager as needed: set up, operate, and organize usher staff and front-of-house equipment (chairs, music stands, etc.). This includes using an online scheduling system, Bluetooth ticket scanners, and other technology as needed. * 10% - Provide audience hospitality services as needed for visiting patrons, including ADA accommodation for individuals with disabilities. * 5% - In the absence of the Spivey Hall Production Manager, House Manager, or Spivey Hall Assistant Production Managers, supervise stage usage of visiting artists, renters, and event organizers. * 5% - Maintain up-to-date training in all safety procedures, including health (CPR, defibrillator), active shooter, weather, and other safety protocols. Ensure all HM staff have necessary up-to-date training. * 5% - Provide backstage hospitality services as needed for visiting artists. Required Qualifications High school diploma. Undergraduate credit hours, associate's degree, or bachelor's degree in a performing arts field are a plus. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities * Excellent verbal and written communication and social skills. * Strong organizational skills. * Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and multitask. * Ability to represent Spivey Hall and Clayton State University successfully to a wide range of individuals and organizations. * Ability to be given strong instruction and directions and effectively supervise a team of House Managers and ushers. * Ability to respond effectively in an emergency, keeping patrons and all persons in Spivey Hall safe. * Capability to work collaboratively as a team member. * Ability to work weekends and evenings * Event management experience in the performing arts, including experience with concert/theatre front-of-house operations, preferred * Knowledge of classical, jazz, and/or world music preferred.
