Position Summary SURVICE Engineering is currently seeking a Entry-Level Software/Computer Engineer to support our Aberdeen Research Operation. You will accelerate your career and become an integral team member within the defense community. Primary Duties and Responsibilities * Performs basic to advanced computer programming in a compatible language that will enable the collection and manipulation and test data from a variety of types of instrumentation. * Collection and manipulation includes: updating programs as the instrumentation changes, creating a database for the storage of data; converting the electrical signals from test instrumentation into engineering units; displaying converted data during a test; plotting test results; checking for and correcting erroneous data; comparing data between different tests; and producing any desired chart or graph of any of the data in a form suitable for including in technical reports or presentations. * Performs analysis of the instrumentation electrical signals to ensure the instrumentation is properly calibrated and accurate. * Provides guidance to possible reasons for any improper signals. * Maintains data collection computers, analog to digital converters, and all related hardware and software. * Requires moderate supervision. Minimum Qualifications of Entry-Level Software/Computer Engineer Bachelor's Degree in Computer, Software, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or related field and 3+ years of experience that demonstrates knowledge. Experience with Java, Python, C++, and other programming languages preferred. Good written and oral communication skills. Exceptional candidates with less experience will be considered. Candidates are not required to possess all qualifications; if you possess some of the desired qualifications, please apply. * Knowledge and experience in instrumentation and data acquisition for explosive and weapons testing. * Expertise in the design, development, query and maintenance of database with regular and web interface. * Expertise in sophisticated data mining techniques. Ability to create intuitive interface for end users to perform customizable queries of data. * Knowledge of explosive performance measurement techniques and explosive test results instrumentation interpretation.
