Job Description: The Senior Accountant is responsible for analyzing and maintaining the college's general ledger, preparing monthly and annual financial statements, and providing financial analysis and budget management reporting to management. This role is under the supervision of the Director of Accounting, Director of Budget and Planning, and VP for Finance. Responsibilities: * Creates journal entries and maintains reconciliations in conjunction with departmental staff to achieve timely and accurate invoicing, financial reporting, reconciliation, and monthly close of general ledger accounts. * Assists in completing annual operating budget, multi-year financial plan, forecasts, and fiscal year end processes. * Conducts complex financial analysis and updates financial models and projections. * Identifies potential process improvements and propose solutions while documenting processes and best practices. * Consults and collaborates with departments and finance teams on financial inquiries, analyses, and budget variances. * Assist with financial compliance with college policies and procedures and applicable legal rules and regulations. * Creates reports for internal and external stakeholders, provides requested documentation for various audits. * Other duties as assigned. Requirements: Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field. * Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience. * Additional Qualifications and Skills: * Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, advanced Excel skills preferred. * Demonstrated strong foundation knowledge of budget management, financial analysis, and financial modeling. * Demonstrated strong foundation knowledge in accounting, and interest in furthering skills in financial accounting. * Excellent written and oral communication skills required. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Well organized, flexible, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
